SproutScore MCP Server

Public, read-only Model Context Protocol (Streamable HTTP) access to NYC childcare-center inspection summaries.

Data caveat: Inspection history: 2020-2023. The city has not published newer NYC daycare inspection data since April 2023 - always confirm current conditions on a tour.
Decode caveat: Plain-English violation decodes are AI-seeded and pending human review - not expert-verified.

Endpoint

POST https://mcp.sproutscore.mehyar.us/mcp with Content-Type: application/json, JSON-RPC 2.0 body. Supports Accept: application/json and Accept: text/event-stream (SSE).

Tools

search_centers — query by name substring and/or borough. Returns id, name, borough, address, inspection count, flagged count, SproutScore comparison grade.
get_center_report — center id (e.g. DC1000) to decoded summary: counts vs NYC cohort average, top violations in plain English with severity and inspection dates.
decode_violation — violation code (e.g. 47.41(j)) to plain-English meaning, severity tier, category. Unknown codes return a clean error.

Rate limit

60 requests/minute per IP (best-effort per edge location). HTTP 429 with retry_after_seconds when exceeded.
